Midousuji Needs to Chill

I am currently watching Yowamushi Pedal Grande Road and seriously Midousuji just needs to calm down. Looking at him is, honestly, hilarious.

I thought he looked crazy in the first picture but not as crazy as this one

ew

What in the world is this?! When he was younger, he was actually pretty cute. I thought his shyness was adorable at some point and how the sky on his way home from visiting his mother from the hospital made him happy. When he mentioned that yellow is the color of happiness, I thought, “Wow, maybe he has a soft side after all.”

I’m still having some mixed feelings for this guy. I’m not sure if I actually like him or not. Although, there are times when I don’t. Like the part when he called Ishigaki, his teammate, gross for relying and caring for him.

But seriously though, he needs to chill from time to time. -R!N

Anime Characters that reminds me of Me!

Image

Izumi Konata is one of the main characters of the Lucky Star series. Konata reminds me so much of myself. First of all, she’s a hardcore otaku who loves anime and playing video games just like me. She can be intelligent at times but she hates studying so her grade’s aren’t all that good. I do have good grades but I really hate studying and I tend to pull all nighters and procrastinate like her. Konata is surprisingly athletic although she isn’t part of any clubs because it gets in the way of her anime. I am on the tennis team so I’m average at athleticism but at first glance, I don’t look like the type who can do sports.

Image

Konata also likes to play net games and is on her computer a lot. I’m the same. Sometimes I’d stay up all night on my computer and sleep in the morning. lol. She listens to anime music, goes to conventions, read a lot of manga, is lazy, and sometimes think like a middle aged man, like me! :3 I look up to her.

Tainaka Ritsu is from the anime K-on. She’s the president of the Light Music Club and the drummer of the band. Her personality reminds me of me. She has an upbeat personality and likes making jokes. Ritsu can also be very lazy, like me 😀 Apparently she takes pride in her forehead, like me lol. I have no bangs. Ritsu is also boyish and her uniform is usually never tucked in. I’m pretty boyish and whenever my friends see me wear something girly, like skirts or sleeveless shirts, they act all surprise and make a big deal out of it so I very rarely wear skirts and sleeveless shirts.

As much as I love Ritsu’s forehead, I really love it when she put her bangs down. She’s a different person, in a good way. Makes me wish I have bangs sometimes but I take pride in my shining forehead though!

Sakamichi Onoda is from the ongoing series Yowamushi Pedal. He is a member of the Souhoku High School Bicycle Club, but I don’t ride bicycles competitively. The point is, he’s an otaku and so am I. He rides his bike to Akihabara every week even though it’s so far away. He also watches anime and gets his friend to watch it too. He sings anime songs while riding his bike. I ride my bike to school so I do the same thing. But I only sing when there’s no people around though so I usually ride when there’s not much people. He also wears glasses, I do too. Onoda is quite shy and has a hard time speaking up for himself. I’m the same, although when I’m with my friends, I’m the most talkative.

Image

Kuroki Tomoko is the protagonist of Watamote. She often has heavy bags under her eyes due to staying up too late playing games and watching anime. I don’t stay up that late when school’s going on but on summer break it’s completely different. Tomoko isn’t very sociable which explains me in class. But it’s not because I don’t wanna talk to them, it’s just that I don’t know how to. She is also perverted at times but she’s fairly optimistic. She thinks that it will only take about a month to get a boyfriend. She’s also had a lot of experience in dating in online games, which is what I’m mostly good at. Sometimes even I think I’m popular even though I know I’m not 😛

Image

Madarame Harunobu in the Genshiken series is the most hardcore otaku of the Genshiken memebers. He spends nearly all of his money on doujinshi. I do that too but I did it too much that my mom put all of my earned money in the bank so I can’t spend them T.T He secretly falls in love with this girl and he never has the courage to confess his feelings even after 3 years because he is sure that his feelings have no chance of getting returned. I’m the same. Never in my life have I ever asked someone out because I’m too shy and scared. It’s usually me getting asked out by them, not me asking them out. He looks geeky too, like me 🙂

So yeah, these characters all remind me of me and that’s why I love them. Mostly because most of them are otakus lol Regardless, these characters are also cool. I love Konata’s jokes and her face expressions. I love it when Ritsu teases her childhood friend and how she makes the room lively. I admire Onoda’s passion in cycling. I love Tomoko’s optimism and the way Madarame spends most of his money on doujinshi and anime stuff is kind of admiring. I love it when I watch an anime and I’m like, “Hey look, it’s the anime version of me.” -R!n

Yowamushi Pedal First Impressions

Image

A friend of mine is f*cking obsessed with this anime and I was like, “It doesn’t look all that good.” Of course as a fan, she started rambling about how good it is. So I decided to give it a shot and watch it. And I have to say that it’s actually way better than I expected. Right when I saw the opening, I was like, “Woah, that dude looks freaking cool!”

Image

The main character, Onoda Sakimichi (the one with the glasses that’s being called an otaku), is seriously like me. When he rides his bike, he tends to sing anime songs out loud like a total nerd (no offense. I am one too). I’m still in episode 5 and so far he’s my favorite character. He wears glasses, barely interacts with anyone and wants to revive the anime club. And then there’s this cyclist, Imaizumi, who saw Onoda riding his bike up a slope so calmly and even singing without having his feet touch the ground and on top of all, he was riding a mommy bike (see the 1st pic). Imaizumi was shocked to see a total amateur riding like that so he challenged him for a race. I was so hooked that I stayed up til 4 am saying, “I can’t sleep until I finish watching their race!”

Image

The main reason why I hesitated watching this anime is because of this guy, Makishima Yuusuke. Honestly, at first I thought he looked creepy but then after watching him, I totally changed my view on him. He’s cool!

This anime taught me a bunch of stuff about bikes that I never even knew. I’ve been riding my bike since I was 9! Did you know that the height of your seat affects the speed of your riding? Apparently, if you put your seat high, you ride faster. I never knew that! And apparently the smaller your gear is the more you have to pedal to go fast. >.<

Image

Onoda Sakimichi has been riding his bike since fourth grade, going to Akihabara once a week which would take him about 2 hours to get there normally. But he rides so fast with an old mommy bike without him noticing it that everyone was impressed. I mentioned that he reminds me of myself. Another reason is because even though he wanted to join the anime club, he ends up cycling. I used to be in the anime club, but then I found tennis and decided to join it. I’ve been playing tennis since. And I also wear glasses :3

If you haven’t watched Yowamushi Pedal, you should. It has comedy and competition in it. It will be worth your time. The anime is still ongoing. I think it has 15 episodes right now. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I will watch some Yowamushi Pedal. -R!n 🙂
