Non Non Biyori

Image

Non Non Biyori is a slice of life anime. It shows you what they do in their everyday lives. Ichijou Hotaru and her parents moved from Tokyo to the middle of the country. She goes to a school where there are only a total of 5 students and a teacher in the whole campus. The school consists of a 1st grader, a 5th grader, a 7th grader, an 8th grader, and a 9th grader. This anime just basically shows you their lives in the country. I like it. It has a soothing feeling to it and it’s funny. I mean seriously, imagine you going to a school with only 5 people. That’s…wow. And there’s barely any stores in here. The closest you can get is a candy store. It’s like a one big family in a little village where people don’t have to lock their houses because everyone’s that nice. In the school, one of the teacher’s student is her sister and 3 other students are siblings. I would actually love to live in a peaceful place like this once in a while.

My favorite character is this girl right here, the one holding a recorder and has purple hair. Her name is Miyauchi Renge. Renge is a very random child who likes to make up her own words (like what she’s saying in the picture. It’s her own way of saying good morning) and songs. She usually wears a poker face but she also shows other expressions. Despite her blank expression, she is very friendly and social. She is loved by all characters, I mean it’s kind of hard not to. She is so cute and I love how random she is. It’s especially cute when she starts staring at one of the characters. :3

Image

(From left to right) Ichijou Hotaru, Koshigaya Natsumi, Miyauchi Renge, Koshigaya Komari. Ok so judging from their height, you’d probably think that the tallest one is the oldest. Well you’re wrong, Komari is actually the oldest (the one on the far right). Hotaru is actually a 5th grader, Renge’s a 1st grader, Natsumi’s a 7th grader, and Komari is an 8th grader. When you get to one of the episodes where they go to the beach, it’s really hard to tell that Hotaru’s a 5th grader.

ImageOk so this is Hotaru now.

Image This was Hotaru last year.

Like seriously, how does someone grow that fast?! I wanna know her secrets T.T Hotaru also admires her senpai, Komari.

Image

My second favorite is Natsumi. She is seriously hilarious. She is really energetic and irresponsible. She can’t sit still and she likes to make everything fun and that’s what I like about her. She is often scolded by her mom about her grades and stuff like not cleaning her room. When her mom starts getting mad she calls it the Armageddon. I love how she exaggerated that, it’s so funny. She usually hides her report cards and test scores from her mom. I mean who wouldn’t with those scores? My mom would kill me if my grades were that bad. Natsumi is such a comedian.

Image

Then there’s this guy, Suguru, Komari and Natsumi’s older brother. He’s a ninth grader and her never talks in the anime. He participates in some stuff but you never hear him say a word. There was a time where he almost spoke but was interrupted by someone. He’s actually really good at guitar and some other stuff too, like studying, falling into a hole in the school, and making anime cat figurines out of clay. This guy just seems like he has no care in the world. He let his sister make him into a scarecrow.

So you know if you have time you should watch this. It may be boring in the beginning but it gets funnier. It only has 12 short episodes. I watched this in one day so you should be able to make some time. If you’re looking for an easygoing anime to watch, you should watch Non Non Biyori.

Ok STORY TIME: There was actually this one part in the show where one of the girls (Natsumi) was putting some pepper in her noodles. You know how there’s like little holes on the container so that only a little pepper would come out? Well the cap fell off so all the pepper inside fell in. And my brothers and I laughed at this. And while we were laughing I was putting some pepper on my breakfast. I was all like, “How stupid,” while I laughed and then the same thing happened to me, the cap fell off and I ended up eating a bowl full pepper. Haha

BTOOOM!

Image

Sakamoto Ryouta is an unemployed 22 year old who still lives with his mother. In the real world, he may seem like a good for nothing adult who doesn’t wanna work, but online, he’s one of the world’s top players of the combat game Btooom! One day Sakamoto Ryouta suddenly finds himself stranded on a mysterious island with nothing but a bag full of bombs called BIM and a strange crystal embedded in his left hand, with no memory of how and why he was there. But it doesn’t take long for him to figure out why he’s there because when he saw someone else in the island and tries to call for help, the first thing the stranger does is throw a bomb at him, attempting to kill him. Now Ryouta realized that he is now trapped in a real-life version of Btooom! Even as an ace player, it’s hard to play a game knowing that there’s no second lives and when you die, you will remain dead. The only way to get out of that messed up island is to kill seven other people before they can kill you.

I seriously love this anime. It’s so exciting that I finished this in one go, no stopping. It’s crazy but good. It does have some blood and there’s some people attempting sexual stuff but nothing too bad. I’d really recommend you watch this if you don’t mind some blood and dealing with a crazy psychotic kid. The anime seems too short. I wish they’d make a season 2 out of it. They kind of just leave you hanging. I love how in the anime, the weapons are types and there’s different types of bombs. Of course your bombs are limited so you kind of have to steal from other people if you run out.

Image

I did mention a psychotic kid, right? Well he may be a little crazy but he’s my favorite. His name is Kira Kousuke. He’s sadistic and has lack of empathy. He’s like emotionless. I guess he wasn’t always like that. He has a mean and strict father who’s very abusive. Kousuke started pick pocketing and later on began to commit serious crimes such as murder and rape. Kousuke is also a heavy Btooom! player, nearly as good as Ryouta. He and his father got trapped in the island together. One day, Kira kills his father for self defense after his dad abuses him. I think the way he fights is cool and he’s father kind of deserved it.

Then there’s the main girl, Himiko. She’s seriously pretty and hot. Her blonde hair and blue eyes often mistakes her for a foreigner. She is noticeably well-endowed which makes men often lust for her. She carries a stun gun around because she’s afraid of being touched by men. So yeah, she has a fear of guys. She’s even willing to kill herself than lose to a man who is attempting to sexually assault her. She’s pretty cool.

So yeah you guys should watch this. It’s really epic although a bit violent. It’s really exciting and I love the plot! A friend of mine recommended this and it’s kind of hard to please her, so this must be a good anime if she recommends it. 🙂 -R!n

K-on!

Image

I am like in LOVE with this anime. I’ve seen both seasons many times. They all belong in this club called the Light Music Club where they start a band. The name of the band is Houkago Tea Time/Afterschool Tea Time basically because they drink tea and eat sweets more than they actually practice. It’s funny and I love their deep friendship. One girl in the story said that they didn’t get much members is because they’re so close, they’re kind of hard to approach. I love how they all have different personalities especially Yui and Ritsu’s. While I watched this anime though, I envy them. Anyone would want a friendship likes theirs. Then there’s the rich ojousama, Tsumugi (Mugi) whose is so cute with her and her thick eyebrows :3 They also have the kouhai Nakano Azusa who Yui hugs all the time and called her Azu-nyan because she’s like a cat. This anime doesn’t really have a specific plot and some people don’t like that. It has some emotional moments that will make you cry and it has funny moments that will also make you cry because you were laughing too hard.

Image

The main characters aren’t the only ones I love. Their teacher and advisor, Yamanaka Sawako-sensei is like the best teacher ever! I wish I have her as a teacher. The way her personality transformed after the Light Music Club found out about her being in the previous Light Music Club when she was a student was freakin’ awesome! And her band wasn’t even Light, it was more like metal and her personality was the complete opposite of what she was showing her students. I also love how Yui’s younger sister, Ui, is more mature than her. Yui’s childhood friend, Nodoka, is also adorable with her and her glasses. There’s no character in this anime that I hate. I love them all!

Image

It’s not only the characters and their jokes that I like, I also like their music. One of my favorites is the ending song No, Thank You. Even though the lyrics to their music was childish, it was fluffy and it has a nice feel to it. As the show goes on, their music becomes better and better. Although I like Yui, I honestly prefer Mio as a vocalist but since she’s usually shy, Yui’s the only that can do it. But either way, it’s still good.

Image

If I have to pick a favorite character, it’s definitely Ritsu. I love it when she plays the drums but I mostly love her jokes and funny comments, especially when she teases Mio, her childhood friend and the bass player. They make a great pair and I also ship the both of them. But anyways, the way Ritsu takes pride in her forehead is funny and it was surprising when I saw her with her bangs down since it was long. Her craziness it what I like about her.

If you haven’t watched K-on yet, you should. It’s a funny anime, it’s worth it. You seem them trying to aim for the top. They may goof around a lot and rarely practice, but when it’s time to perform, they get the job done. *sigh* I wish my highschool life was this exciting lol  -R!n
